Potter joins up with Owls

Sheffield Wednesday have signed midfielder Darren Potter on loan from Championship rivals Wolves.

Potter, 25, has not made a single first-team appearances for the Molineux outfit this season.

He joined Wolves from Liverpool in January 2007 and is a full Republic of Ireland international.

"Darren is a box-to-box midfielder, very athletic and he can see a pass," manager Brian Laws told the club's official website.

"He can certainly add to our midfield. He's hungry, enthusiastic and has a desire to play football. He's another part of our plan."

Meanwhile, Laws is hoping to extend the loan stay of Stoke City defender Lewis Buxton until the end of the season.
