Players won`t go cheaply - Irvine
Sheffield Wednesday manager Alan Irvine believes it would take overwhelming offers to tempt him to sell his star players.Goalkeeper Lee Grant has already been sold over the summer to Burnley while Jermaine Johnson and Marcus Tudgay have been heavily linked with moves away from the cash-strapped club.Irvine is aware he can not stop rival clubs from bidding for players but is adamant that he is under no pressure to accept below-par offers."It took a lot of hard work to put this squad together; we certainly don't want to be breaking it up at the 11th hour," Irvine told the Sheffield Star."My feeling is that we can't stop other clubs making offers, but we can do something, and that's turn them down if they are way below something that would blow us away and give us no choice but to accept."I'm told we do not need to sell any player. That's great. If we don't need to sell any player, then we can be stronger if clubs come in with bids."
