Owls suffer Tudgay setback

Sheffield Wednesday striker Marcus Tudgay faces up to four weeks on the sidelines with the groin injury he picked up in the defeat at Barnsley.

The Owls' top scorer missed the 3-1 loss at Birmingham City on Saturday and may not return to action until the end of November.

Meanwhile, the club will launch an appeal to have Jimmy Smith's red card in the St Andrew's defeat rescinded.

Wednesday boss Brian Laws said of his player's dismissal: "When I saw it first-hand, I wasn't sure. I've now watched it three times from different angles.

"I think it looked a bit harsh. He hasn't connected with the player above his chest; there was no malice in it, he's mistimed his jump."
