Sheffield Wednesday have turned down a £1.3million offer from Charlton Athletic for defender Madjid Bougherra.
The 24-year-old Algeria international joined Wednesday in the summer from French side Gueugnon, having impressed while on loan at Crewe Alexandra towards the end of last season.
Owls chief executive Kaven Walker told the club's official website: "We have rejected a £1.3million offer from Charlton Athletic. He is not for sale."
Manager Brian Laws had recently stated: "I believe he has the ability to play in the Premiership at some stage. We want to make sure it's with Sheffield Wednesday, not with anybody else.
"Madjid is secure here, he's happy and when he's happy he enjoys his football and plays well."
Bougherra has scored twice in 28 appearances for the Hillsborough club this term.
