Owls opt to release seven

Sheffield Wednesday manager Brian Laws has released seven players following the club's flirtation with relegation from the Championship.
Lee Bullen, Rob Burch, Ronnie Wallwork, Burton O'Brien, James Kay, Jason Bradley and David McClements have all been told their futures lie away from Hillsborough.
However, the Owls have offered new contracts to Sean McAllister, Luke Boden, Liam McMenamin and Richard O'Donnell.
Laws said: "For every positive there's a negative and it's sad that players have to be released.
"However, these players deserve the chance to find first-team football elsewhere, which is something that we could not guarantee.
"I would like to place on record my thanks to each of the players we are letting go and wish them the very best of luck for the future."
