Owls finally find a striker

Goalscorer signs on loan
Sheffield Wednesday's long search for a proven goal scorer has come to fruition today with the signing of Hull City striker Matt Fryatt on a month-long loan deal.
The former Walsall and Leicester player will go straight into the squad with the hope of making his Owls debut in the local derby with Doncaster at Hillsborough on Saturday.
Wednesday brought in tall striker Atdhe Nuhiu in the summer but at that time they expressed a need to add a goal poacher to play off the big man. Wednesday's need for extra options in attack has been amplified by the loss of Gary Madine due to off field issues while Chris Maguire has struggled to make a lasting impression in the first team.
Michail Antonio has been employed in a forward role this season and has looked out of sorts with the balance of the side appearing to be an issue. The addition of Fryatt should help to address this problem.
Fryatt should not have too much of a problem regarding match fitness having featured for Hull in the League Cup in midweek. The 27 year old missed almost all of last season due to an achilles injury but when he has been fit his record in front of goal is impressive
Having scored a hatfull of goals for Walsall Fryatt bagged a move to Leicester. His first couple of full seasons with the Foxes did not go as well as we would have hoped but in 2008/09 he scored 27 times in 46 games.
The following season saw him score 12 times and in 2010/11 he bagged 13 goals in 37 appearances for Leicester and Hull.
Wednesday will be hoping the striker can be the catalyst to get their season back on track as they are yet to record a victory during this campaign.
