Sheffield Wednesday boss Paul Sturrock is sweating on the fitness of striker Steven MacLean after he suffered a knee injury against Burnley on Saturday.

The former Rangers hitman is looking very unlikely to be fit to face Plymouth at Home Park this coming Saturday after being forced off during the 1-1 draw at Hillsborough.

Sturrock admitted that he is tempted to play MacLean against his former club, but if Tuesday's scan shows that is not possible, then academy forward Luke Boden is all the Owls will have to fall back on.

There is no chance of any loan players being drafted in due to budget restrictions.
