    Owls enjoy quiet life

    25 Apr 2007 - 07:38:40

Sheffield Wednesday striker Steven MacLean believes the Owls have nothing to lose as they continue to stage a late bid for a play-off place.

Five consecutive victories have propelled Wednesday up to the fringes of the play-off places, but the Owls' top-scorer insists there is no pressure as the Hillsborough club as they were not expected to be in the promotion shake-up a few months ago.

"The first thing we do after games is to put the telly on and see how the results have gone," MacLean told the Sheffield Star.

"We're just having a laugh and a joke about it. Every week we say 'we're still there!'.

"We just keep the bandwagon rolling. There's no pressure on us.

"It just makes you want to go out and do well and see where it takes us."

Meanwhile, the 13-goal striker has revealed contract negations are progressing and he expects to stay at the club beyond the end of the season when his current deal expires.

"My agent and the club are talking. There are a couple of things to sort out and hopefully that will be resolved sooner rather than later," he revealed.
