Owls drop Bullen hint

Sheffield Wednesday boss Brian Laws has hinted that captain Lee Bullen could be on his way in the January transfer window.

The 36-year-old defender has been used sparingly by Laws this season and, after receiving enquiries from unnamed clubs in Scotland, the Owls boss has suggested Bullen may leave Hillsborough in the new year.

The former Dunfermline defender has been with the Championship club for three years.

"Lee's a good pro. I know he'd prefer to be playing first-team football, though he's committed himself to the cause, and that's nice to see," Laws told the Sheffield Star.

"He's getting to the stage where he'll be thinking about the future, especially with the likes of Mark Beevers coming through.

"One or two clubs in Scotland have made enquiries and are going to come back to us in January. We'll just have to wait and see."
