Sheffield Wednesday boss Brian Laws has opted to keep loan defenders Tony McMahon and Lewis Buxton at Hillsborough.
The Owls boss has brought McMahon back from Middlesbrough for a third and final month and extended Buxton's loan switch from Stoke City.
Boro had recalled McMahon when he was forced to serve a three-match suspension after being sent off at Barnsley, but have now decided to allow him to return to South Yorkshire.
Laws said: "I'm pleased. Tony's return gives us a bit more strength in depth defensively. He and Lewis have both done cracking jobs for us. I've been really pleased with both of them.
"Tony is a right-back with Premier League experience while Lewis is extremely versatile and is able to play anywhere across the back four. Both have fitted in really well."
