Sheffield Wednesday striker Leon Clarke has committed his future to the club by penning a new one-year contract that will keep him at Hillsborough until the end of next season. The 24-year-old has impressed Owls boss Brian Laws this term, scoring eight goals for the mid-table side. Laws said: "Leon's made a fantastic amount of progress this year and he's become a potent weapon in our attacking play on a consistent basis. "I'm delighted that he'll be staying for at least another year with us because it's important for Sheffield Wednesday to retain our best players as we look to compete in the top half of the Championship next season."
