Laws worried by Whelan
07 Dec 2007 - 12:31:51
Sheffield Wednesday manager Brain Laws had admitted that he may be forced to sell midfielder Glenn Whelan in January.
Whelan has refused to sign a new contract at Hillsborough and would be able to leave on a free transfer in the summer.
A number of clubs have been linked with signing the former Manchester City player including Derby County, Wigan Athletic, Reading and Stoke City.
The Owls boss told the Yorkshire Post: "Whelan's a worry. We'll have to sit tight and see what happens in January.
"If we get an offer for Glenn and he's still not prepared to sign, then we're going to have to look at it realistically.
"I'm sure next week a lot of things will become clearer."
Whelan has made 20 appearances for the Owls this season scoring three goals in the process.
