Sheffield Wednesday boss Brian Laws has revealed that defender John Hills is racing to be fit for Saturday's trip to Leicester City after he picked up a hamstring problem against West Brom.

The Owls boss witnessed his side win their first game at Hillsborough since he took charge with goals from Glenn Whelan, Madjid Bougherra and a Steve MacLean penalty securing a 3-1 victory, but Hills was forced off during the opening 45 minutes.

Laws said: "It doesn't look too clever but he might be fit for Saturday."

On the victory against the Baggies, Laws added: "We knew this was always going to be a tough test because West Brom are possible contenders for promotion to the Premiership.

"What epitomised the performance was our hard work and willingness to work for each other and close people down."
