Sheffield Wednesday manager Brian Laws revealed his relief after moving out of the drop zone on the back of Tuesday's 1-1 draw with Coventry City.
The Owls left it late to claim a vital point as captain Richard Wood scrambled a stoppage time equaliser to move them up to 20th place in the Championship table.
Wednesday are now level on points with fellow strugglers Southampton and Barnsley but out of the relegation places on goal difference.
"We've moved out of the bottom three for the first time in a long time. That would have battered some teams," said Laws.
"There will be a few people who have checked Teletext and thought we had lost.
"It's nice to pass the baton on to someone else and let them have a go at being in the bottom three.
"We didn't do enough to win it but deserved a point."
