Laws lands loanee Feeney

Sheffield Wednesday manager Brian Laws has bolstered his strikeforce by landing the Northern Ireland international Warren Feeney on an emergency loan arrangement.

The 28-year-old moves to Hillsborough from Cardiff City where he has dropped out of boss Dave Jones' first-team plans this season.

Laws told the Owls' official website: "Cardiff City have plenty of attacking options, having scored 33 goals in the Championship already this season, so it's been difficult for Warren to force his way into the team regularly.

"I'm really pleased that Dave Jones has allowed Warren to join us on loan because he's an attack-minded player with a lot to offer in the final third and he'll give us a boost going into the festive fixtures.

"We've been creating plenty of opportunities in recent matches but we need to convert those into goals and hopefully Warren can bring something extra to the team in that respect.

"I've been busy trying to secure new additions to the squad this week and I expect that we'll have another loan signing in before the deadline later today."
