Sheffield Wednesday boss Alan Irvine has heaped praise on to his players after they secured a 2-0 win over Blackpool at Hillsborough on Tuesday evening. After taking the hot-seat, he has now won seven of his seven games, guiding the Owls to 18th place in the league. They are narrowly outside the relegation places but he has paid a glowing tribute to his first-team stars. Speaking after the game, he said: "Terrific, absolutely fantastic. Five wins out of seven games is magnificent in any division, even more so in the Championship. "The lads deserve enormous credit for what they have done. "We still need six wins, but it sounds a lot better - six wins out of 16 instead of 11 out of 23." Goals from midfield duo James O'Connor and Darren Potter proved to be the difference on the night.
