Irvine hails duo after Dale are downed
Sheffield Wednesday boss Alan Irvine was full of praise for James O'Connor and Clinton Morrison following the 2-0 win over Rochdale.Giles Coke struck from the edge of the area after receiving Morrison's lay-off in the 62nd minute, while Morrison made it 2-0 seven minutes from time with a glancing header following Tommy Miller's chip.Irvine said: "The players deserve a lot of credit. They're a team who can handle the ball and we made sure they didn't get started."We highlighted some things we could maybe exploit in terms of Rochdale's weaknesses and the players went out and did it. It was important we got forward, especially in the wide areas."James (O'Connor) is the ultimate professional. He's going to give you everything he's got. Clinton Morrison has come through a really tough week. He's played a lot of minutes."I wondered whether I needed to freshen it up but as a manager you want to be able to say `same again' so I went with pretty much the same team. It's a long, long, hard season and it's what you do over the course of the season that decides where you are."
