Hinds secures Owls contract

Defender Richard Hinds has secured a new two-year contract with Sheffield Wednesday after impressing following his recovery from injury.

The 28-year-old only returned to action in February after a lengthy recovery from leg and ankle problems, but quickly impressed boss Brian Laws with his displays.

Laws told the Sheffield Star: "Richard has done really well - he deserves this opportunity.

"He has been one of our most consistent players; he got back way ahead of schedule and if anybody doubted he would come back, he proved them wrong.

"We knew he was going to face a long absence and even I thought he might not be back in the team before the start of next season.

"But he surpassed everybody's expectations and worked so hard to get back, he's shown that he can be an asset to us."
