Gray expecting rough ride

Sheffield Wednesday veteran Michael Gray is expecting a hostile return to the north east when his side face Newcastle United at St James' Park on Wednesday evening.

The full-back expects the 35,000-plus crowd to be on his back and is fully prepared for any flak from the fiercest rivals fans of his former club Sunderland.

Gray played in 14 Tyne-Wear contests during his Black Cats days.

Speaking to Sheffield Star, he said: "You take your stick and get on with the game.

"I'm ready for it, and I'm looking forward to the match.

"The atmosphere is electric there. There's no hiding place. It's not a game for faint hearts."
