Sheffield Wednesday boss Brian Laws has warned Etienne Esajas that he needs to cut out his showboating antics if he is to avoid being kicked this season.
The Dutch flyer was clattered by Crystal Palace's Clint Hill just a few seconds into Tuesday's goalless draw at Selhurst Park and Laws would prefer to see the tricky wideman get crosses into the box rather than show off his skills.
Speaking to Sheffield Telegraph, Esajas said: "He's told me 'don't showboat'. If you do that it upsets other players and they can kick you. It's better to get your crosses in.
"I'm now fit and I want to stay fit.
"I want to get better at the things a winger needs to do. I love going one-on-one with defenders and after that everybody wants to see a cross.
"I want to show what I can do. Scoring is not the first thing for me. Providing goals is better."
