Dismissed Jeffers in hot water

Sheffield Wednesday boss Brian Laws has promised to have another look at the incident that led to Francis Jeffers being sent off in the 2-0 Carling Cup defeat at Port Vale before deciding what action to take. The former Arsenal and Everton star was handed a red card after appearing to head-butt Vale's Tommy Fraser and faces a three-match FA ban and possible action from the Owls. Laws said after the match: "I'm going to study the DVD then I'll make the right decision and you'll know all about it." Second-half goals from Kris Taylor and Rob Taylor helped the League Two side progress to the third round of the competition.
