Can Wednesday continue fine form?
Owls vs Lions: Team news & preview
Sheffield Wednesday host Millwall on Saturday as they look to extend their unbeaten start to life back in the Championship. The Owls have taken 4 points from the opening 2 games as well as progressing to the 2nd round of the League Cup but face a tough test against a well drilled Millwall team.
Dave Jones is likely to field the same side that were so impressive in Tuesday’s victory over Birmingham City. Mark Beevers deputised at centre-back in place of Anthony Gardner who picked up a knock in the opening day draw at Derby and Beevers will hope he has done enough to keep his place even if Gardner has recovered.
Millwall are likely to have veteran Maik Taylor in goal and former Sheffield United striker Darius Henderson leading the line. Defender Paul Robinson is expected to miss out due to a groin strain.
The Owls are unbeaten since February and have scored in each of their last 14 games but manager Dave Jones will be hoping his team can keep things tighter at the other end having conceded 6 goals in 3 games this season.
Millwall picked up their first league win of the campaign on Tuesday with a 2-1 victory at Peterborough having lost at home to Blackpool on the opening day.
The two sides have not met since the 2005/06 season when Millwall won at Hillsborough and Wednesday won at the New Den.
