Busy day so far at Hillsborough

Ins and outs on transfer deadline day
As the end of the summer transfer window approaches it has been a productive day for Sheffield Wednesday. With just a short time to until the deadline the Owls have let two players go out and have brought one player in.
Wide midfielder Mike Jones has left the club to join League One side Crawley Town for an undisclosed fee. Jones only joined the Owls in January under Gary Megson but has found his first team opportunities limited, especially since Dave Jones took over as manager in March. Mike Jones only made 11 appearances for Wednesday during his short time at Hillsborough and he will be hoping the move gives him a better opportunity of regular football.
Also on his way out of S6, for the time being at least, is Giles Coke. The midfielder has been involved in some of the Owls squads so far this season but is not considered a first team regular and so has taken the opportunity to go out on a 4-month loan deal. Coke moves to League One side Swindon where he will me managed by former Wednesday player Paolo Di Canio.
Moving into The Owls squad on a similar loan deal that runs until January is experienced striker Jay Bothroyd. The QPR forward score the Premier League side’s first goal of the season in their 1-1 draw with Norwich last weekend so it is perhaps something of a surprise that he has been allowed to leave the club on loan. Bothroyd, who started his career as a youngster at Arsenal was a prolific scorer for Cardiff City under Dave Jones in the Championship before moving to QPR in 2011.
