Beloufa wins Owls trial

Sheffield Wednesday boss Brian Laws has handed a trial to the Algerian central defender Samir Beloufa.

The 27-year-old will attempt to impress the Owls manager when he plays for the second string in their game against Huddersfield Town's reserves.

Beloufa played for AC Milan in the 1997-98 season and also spent some time with Serie B side Monza before moving to Belgium.

He played for Belgian sides Mouscron, Germinal Beerschot and Westerlo, but more recently was starring for Bastia in the second tier of the French league.
