Beevers nearing Owls return

Sheffield Wednesday's teenage defender Mark Beevers is close to making a return to action following a hamstring injury.

The 18-year-old left-back has not featured since the 1-1 draw at Swansea City at the end of August, but has stepped up his training this week.

Owls manager Brian Laws told the club's official website: "We have to make sure we don't overdo it, because we have another three games coming up in a short space of time.

"It is vital that when he does come in he stays in, because he is a good player.

"Although we are talking about an 18-year-old, he has a big effect on the team."
