Wolves snare Sunderland utility man as Blades fail to cut deal for Halford

Wolves have completed the signing of Sunderland utility man Greg Halford for an undisclosed fee. Halford has signed a three-year deal - with an option for a further 12 months - at Molineux to become the promoted club's third new recruit in four days following the captures of Kevin Doyle and Andrew Surman. The 24-year-old joined Sunderland in 2007 from Reading for £3million but failed to settle on Wearside and was subsequently loaned out to Charlton and Sheffield United. 'I'm really excited about moving down to Wolves,' Halford told Wolves' official website. 'It is going to be an exciting season for the club going into the Premier League and hopefully we can push on and establish ourselves in the division.
