Warnock relishes showdown

Neil Warnock says he is looking forward to a final-day showdown with Wigan Athletic, as his Sheffield United side battle for Premiership survival.

A draw will be enough to see the Latics safe and Warnock is relaxed about the winner-takes-all encounter at Bramall Lane.

He told the Yorkshire Post: "We have not had anything given us this year on a plate and we don't expect anything on Sunday.

"Sheffield United have had to fight for everything they get on and off the field this season and we will continue to do so at the weekend.

"We don't need to bother about anyone else, that way it will be even more satisfying if we get the right result.

"We are probably the ones that everyone expected to be in this situation and I think that's why we have got to look forward to this game, rather than fear it.

"It's still in our own hands and we would have settled for that at the start of the season.

"Now we have to play before a full house at Bramall Lane needing a result to stay in the Premiership. What more can you ask for?"
