Smith wants Royals move - Rodgers

The Hornets accepted United's bid of £1.8million for Smith last week, but Rodgers is still hopeful of bringing the former Derby man to the Madejski Stadium. Rodgers claims Smith is eager to join the Berkshire club having worked with the 29-year-old at Vicarage Road last season. "He wants to be here. He's a player that has turned down a number of moves," Rodgers told the Reading Post. "He doesn't have to go anywhere unless he wants to. But there's good communication. "Nick Hammond (Royals director of football) has been having good communication with the chairman there and hopefully, I'm not sure how quickly, there will be some sort of resolution."
