Sharp set for lengthy lay-off

Sheffield United striker Billy Sharp could miss the rest of the season through injury.

The former Scunthorpe United star looks set to be replaced in the Blades squad by John-Joe O'Toole, who is currently on loan at Bramall Lane from Watford.

Sharp damaged his groin after scoring in last Thursday's FA Cup defeat at Hull City.

Blackwell said of his decision not to include O'Toole in his squad for the weekend win against Birmingham City: "John-Joe had been here only three days before the game and so we hadn't had many opportunities to work with him.

"I wanted him to see how we play, what's expected of him and the type of team that he's going to be coming into."
