Olsen lands Blades trial

Sheffield United have handed a trial to Norwegian winger Trond Olsen.

The Bodo/Glimt player is an international and has attracted interest from several clubs during January, including Premier League sides.

"I have known about this for a few days and it will be very exciting," he said.

"There are a few serious offers on the table now, with the likes of Fulham showing an interest."

However, it is the Blades that have handed Olsen his chance and the 24-year-old will aim to land a deal with the Championship play-off contenders.

It is also understood that the club have agreed a fee for Chesterfield striker Jamie Ward.
