New deal for Jagielka

Sheffield United midfielder Phil Jagielka has signed a new three-year contract with the Premiership newcomers. The 24-year-old is now under contract with the Blades until 2009, with an option for a further 12 months tagged on in addition. United boss Neil Warnock told the club's official website: "Obviously we've been working hard on this and we knew Jags was happy here and wanted to be in the Premiership. "It's great for us and we're all delighted he has achieved what he has with us and we look forward to him proving himself still further. "We now hope he'll be able to fulfil his dreams with us." Jagielka has been with the Blades for six years, scoring 18 goals in 249 first-team appearances.
