Sheffield United have handed a new short-term contract to defender Jonathan Fortune.
Fortune, 29, has made just two first-team appearances for the Blades following his summer arrival from Charlton, but manager Kevin Blackwell is keen to keep him at Bramall Lane to act as cover,
"Jonathan has been plagued by injuries but when we needed him at Barnsley he came in and did a great job," he explained after handing the defender a new deal until the end of the season.
"He picked up a severe hamstring injury when we won at Bristol City and, although he could do with a little more time, I put him on the bench on Saturday because we were short of defensive cover.
"Jon is an experienced professional and it's great to have him on board."
