Naysmith set for reserves run-out

Published: 17 Nov 2009 - 12:29:00

The Scotland international has not appeared for the Blades this season after undergoing surgery to repair cruciate ligament damage in April. But the 31-year-old left-back made his initial comeback for the reserves last week against Derby and now aims to improve his match fitness against Walsall. Should Naysmith suffer no reaction there is an outside chance he could be included in Kevin Blackwell's depleted squad for Saturday's home clash with Peterborough. Fellow defender Derek Geary, who made his comeback from a rebuilt knee after 15 months on the sidelines in the draw at Barnsley last time out, will also look to sharpen up in the reserves with a view to the Peterborough game.
