Morgan keen to help out

Sheffield United chief executive Trevor Birch has revealed how Chris Morgan jumped at the chance to assist John Carver in his caretaker duties.Morgan, who has been ruled out for the rest of the season with injury, has been installed to help Carver and assistant manager Sam Ellis prepare the Blades squad for Saturday`s visit of Swansea and Birch believes the defender will give it his all."Chris is a Blade through and through. He`s going to be acting as a link between John and Sam and the players," he told the Sheffield Star."Chris is a big figure here, a very strong presence. When the chance was put to Chris he absolutely jumped at the opportunity to do it."Speaking about the vacant manager`s position at Bramall lane, Birch insists they want to appoint a calm figure."We would probably sway away from someone who is a first-time manager. That`s looking at the current applicants but, equally, I don`t think it will be an older, gnarled type of figure. We need someone who is calm under fire and cool in a crisis," he added.
