Montgomery focused on play-off push

Published: 09 Mar 2010 - 12:54:00

Montgomery's current deal is due to expire in the summer and the midfielder, in his 10th season with the Blades and the club's longest-serving first-team player, wants to extend his stay. The 28-year-old said: "We're still talking, but I'm just concentrating on the next 12 games, then we can assess things at the end of the season. "I want to stay, but at the moment I need to focus on trying to get this club in the play-offs." Montgomery added: "We're still within touching distance of the top six and although we've missed opportunities recently, we're fully focused. "Every game from now on in is massive depending on where you want to be. I remember how well we have finished the season in the past and we need to replicate that this time around."
