Montgomery: Blades must keep cool

The Blades take on the Tykes at Bramall Lane looking to boost their hopes of automatic promotion by extending their unbeaten run in the Championship to nine games. United start the night six points adrift of second-placed Birmingham after the Blues' 2-0 win over league leaders Wolves last night. And Montgomery said that professionalism must be high on the team's agenda if they are to sustain the momentum that could carry them all the way to the Premier League. "It is always going to be fiery with it being a local derby, but we have just got to treat it like another game" Montgomery told the Blades' official website. "No doubt it will be a cracking atmosphere, with both sets of fans urging their team on and if we apply ourselves properly, which we have done all season, then we should be able to get a positive result." Montgomery pointed to the Blades' victory in the heated clash at Cardiff two weeks ago as an example of how they should conduct themselves in potentially combustible situations. "Keeping control is very important, you only have to look at the Cardiff game when we remained focussed despite what was going on around us" he said. "We showed we could keep our heads and not get dragged into the battle, which can be easier said than done." United are expected to name an unchanged side from their win over Ipswich on Saturday, with defender Greg Halford continuing as a makeshift striker behind Darius Henderson and Jamie Ward. Barnsley boss Simon Davey has a fully-fit squad, with Adam Hammill back in training after a ligament injury but unlikely to play. Coca Cola Ch'ship Promotion 08/09 Win Outright: Sheff Utd 13/8
