Transfer-listed defender Chris Lucketti wants to remain at Sheffield United and fight for his first-team place.
The 35-year-old was told he was surplus to requirements at Bramall Lane alongside seven other players in a pre-Christmas shake-up of the United playing squad.
But after making four appearances in January, the former Huddersfield Town and Preston North End centre-half wants to stay with the Blades and play top-flight football.
"I was put on the transfer list with a view to go in the window, there were offers on the table and I could have gone but I didn't give up this opportunity to play in the Premiership - it's something special when you're 35," he told the club's official website.
"The gaffer doesn't want me to go and, at this moment, I'm not thinking about it. I'm just concentrating on playing and I hope to figure in the next game."
Lucketti has made over 600 appearances in a professional career spanning 17 years.
