Ifill set for loan switch

Sheffield United midfielder Paul Ifill is being linked with a loan move to three Championship sides after dropping out of the first-team picture at Bramall Lane. Sunderland, Stoke City and Leeds United are all keen to sign the 27-year-old former Millwall star who has not played a Premiership game for over two months. Meanwhile, Blades boss Neil Warnock was delighted with his side's display in Saturday's 2-1 defeat at home to Manchester United, and was particularly pleased for Keith Gillespie who scored against his former club. "We thought he'd have the beating of their full-back," said Warnock. "We've tried to get him more involved and to score goals and it's nice for him to get off the mark. "Sir Alex (Ferguson) paid us a big compliment by picking the team he did with matches against Celtic and Chelsea coming up. "I couldn't ask for any more from my players and I'm really pleased with what they did. "Claude Davis made two mistakes and, if it had been anyone but Wayne Rooney, we'd not have been punished for the lapses."
