Henderson faces surgery blow

Sheffield United striker Darius Henderson is facing around six months out of action as he requires further surgery on a long-standing hamstring problem.

The 28-year-old missed the end of last season and suffered more problems during training ahead of the new campaign.

Boss Kevin Blackwell told The Star: "Darius is going to have an operation which is likely to keep him out for between six and four months. Obviously we hope it's the latter.

"He was flying in training, absolutely flying, but he couldn't quite just get to where he wanted to be in terms of sharpness.

"That's when a specialist picked up on what was causing the difficulty.

"Basically his hamstring has come away at the base, so it needs to be reconnected properly."
