FA await evidence over elbow

The Football Association has confirmed they are awaiting further evidence from Barnsley before deciding whether to take action against Sheffield United captain Chris Morgan.

Morgan left Iain Hume requiring emergency surgery after his elbow made contact with the Tykes striker's head during last weekend's 2-1 win for the Blades at Oakwell.

Barnsley manager Simon Davey has already condemned Morgan and called for action to be taken.

He was particularly upset as Morgan received only a booking from match referee Andy D'Urso for the challenge.

"We've been told by Barnsley that we will receive further evidence and that will be reviewed before making any final decision on this case," claimed an FA spokesperson.
