Ex-Blades Move On

Charlton Athletic have re-signed former defender Jonathan Fortune whilst former Arsenal and Sunderland striker Anthony Stokes completed a full transfer to Celtic on deadline day yesterday. jonathan fortune in action at the hawthorns (wba) last season.Fortune was signed by then manager Kevin Blackwell from League One outfit Charlton Athletic on a free transfer in September 2009 as a covering defender - he made his debut in November in a 2-2 draw at Barnsley and went onto make a total of three (+2) appearances.He netted just once in a 3-0 win over Reading for the Red and White Wizards before being released in July 2010.Meanwhile Anthony Stokes, who has set the Scottish Premier League alive since his move North of the boarder to Hibernian in August 2009 (from Sunderland) attracted interest from Celtic who has signed the Republic of Ireland striker for an undisclosed fee.He joined United on loan from the Black Cats in October 2008 (by Kevin Blackwell) and during his three month stay made five (+7) appearances before returning to the Stadium of Light.
