Defender had scoring feeling

Published: 19 Feb 2009 - 14:33:00

The Sunderland loanee struck the opener in a 1-1 draw, which saw him end with a head wound that required three stitches. The injury did not faze him though and he was content with his overall efforts, as he told the club's official website: "Everyone in training thought I would score and I had a good feeling about it. I heard a few people had backed me, which was nice to know. "Once Chris Morgan came off I had to drop back to defend. I picked up a cut head for my troubles, which pleased the manager. "He says he doesn't see enough claret on their shirts but that's the third time already for me this season."
