Burnley have re-signed striker Ade Akinbiyi from Sheffield United for £750,000.
The 32-year-old left Turf Moor just under a year ago to join the Blades for £1.75million, but he managed just four goals in 20 appearances for Neil Warnock's side.
Akinbiyi has penned a deal running until the summer of 2009, with Clarets boss Steve Cotterill delighted to welcome the player back.
He told the club's official website: "He is a great character. He will need time to settle in though because he hasn't played too much regular football in the last 12 months.
"To be honest everybody knew what I thought of Ade in his previous spell here, and I just thought when we were looking around for what was available, both in terms of money and the player, he was the best."
Akinbiyi scored 18 goals in 43 outings for the Clarets during his first stint at Turf Moor.
