Calf problem sidelines Beattie

Sheffield United's pre-season preparations have been hampered by the news that James Beattie has been ruled out of the Blades' pre-season games in Hungary, Belgium and Holland.
The 30-year-old former Southampton and Everton striker is suffering from a calf complaint but should be fit for the start of the Championship campaign.
United boss Kevin Blackwell confirmed to the Sheffield Star: "The niggling calf problem, which has caused him a bit of discomfort in previous pre-season campaigns, has forced him to miss a week's training so we've left him back at the ranch to catch up."
Beattie scored 22 goals in 41 appearances for United last term.
