Bromby and Carney leave Blades

Published: 01 Sep 2009 - 10:12:00

The duo have left Bramall Lane with manager Kevin Blackwell still on the lookout to bring players in before the deadline closes. Defender Bromby, 29, has moved to Leeds on a four-year-deal for a fee of around £250,000, despite only joining the Blades during the summer after a successful loan spell at the end of last season. Australia international midfielder Carney, 25, has moved to FC Twente for an undisclosed fee, where he will link up with former England manager Steve McClaren. Meanwhile, the Blades are reportedly looking to bring in versatile left-sided player Jordan Stewart, 27, from Derby with midfielder Lee Hendrie, 32, set to move in the opposite direction.
