    Blades vow to fight on

    14 May 2007 - 09:13:06

Sheffield United chairman Kevin McCabe insists he will continue to push for legal action against West Ham United over the controversial signings of Carlos Tevez and Javier Mascherano.

The Blades' relegation to the Championship was confirmed by their home defeat to Wigan Athletic on Sunday, while West Ham were earning three points from a shock win at below-strength Premiership champions Manchester United.

McCabe believes he has the support of a number of Premiership clubs including Wigan as he attempts to have points docked off West Ham's total after they were found guilty of acting improperly over the purchases of the Argentinian duo.

"Most of the clubs support the injustice that has come about this season. I'd hope we'd get the backing of most," McCabe told the BBC.

"I feel cheated because yesterday's result was not the root cause of our relegation.

"It will need conversations with chairmen and directors so they understand all of the injustices, so I suspect we will be canvassing.

"If I were on the Premier League board, I would say 'we must address Sheffield United's plight that has come about through no cause of their own'.

"So they need to call their own internal meetings and decide what to do. It is their responsibility to pursue it just as much as it is ours."
