Blades trial for Brazil star

Sheffield United have handed a trial to former Brazil international midfielder Ze Maria.

The 34-year-old right-sided player is available on a free transfer following his release by Spanish side Levante earlier in the summer.

The former Internazionale and Parma player made over 40 international appearances for the South American side.

"I've seen him play for Brazil and Inter and he's a very good player," Blades boss Bryan Robson told the club's official website.

"He is 34 now, we've brought him in to see if he can do a job and we will continue to assess him, although he has had very little time with us so far."
