Sheffield United have completed the signing of Middlesbrough winger Mark Yeates for an undisclosed fee. The 25-year-old Republic of Ireland international has signed a two-and-a-half year contract at Bramall Lane, having opted to leave Boro after only a matter of months. Blades boss Kevin Blackwell told the club's official website: "He's a player we have looked at before, I've had my eye on him for a year or two, but we couldn't agree terms with Colchester. "I'm delighted to finally get my man, although I was surprised that Boro would let him go." Yeates started his career with Tottenham Hotspur, before heading to Colchester United in the summer of 2007. He has also spent time on loan at Brighton & Hove Albion, Swindon Town, Hull City and Leicester City. Yeates netted just once in 21 appearances before cutting short his stay on Teesside.
