Blades target loan arrivals

Kevin Blackwell hopes to augment his Sheffield United squad by signing up to three Premier League players on loan.

However, the Blades boss is aware that the timing of the arrivals will have to be right if they are to be eligible to feature in the play-offs.

Blackwell told the Sheffield Star: "We've got two or three in mind from the Premiership.

"But something we've got to consider is the timing because, if we bring someone in now, then it means we will lose them for the play-offs because we can only do deals now for a set period of time.

"In a perfect world I want to get someone here and then know that, come what may, they're here for the rest of the season.

"I'd rather not put us in a position where we have to go out and get someone for the last few weeks just for the sake of it and knowing that we might not even use them."
