Blades striker off to Norway

Sheffield United have allowed Jamaica striker Luton Shelton to leave the club to join Norwegian side Valerenga in a £1million deal.

The 22-year-old joined the Blades in January 2007 from Swedish club Helsingborgs, but failed to make much of an impact, scoring four goals in 25 appearances for United.

Boss Kevin Blackwell told the club's official website: "Luton wasn't exactly what I was looking for, he was a bit of a maverick.

"This opportunity arose for him to play regularly and is just what he needs at this stage of his career."
